Default AC oil leaked

My wife told me that she saw I had leaked something under my car a day or two ago. I looked underneath and saw it was from my air conditioner (PAG oil with some of the marker dye). It's a decent size spot that it left and I'm wondreing if you guys think there's still any oil left in it.

I replaced one of the hose assemblies, drier, and orifice tube a few months ago. The shop that did the recharge for me added some oil (don't know how much) but I'm wondering if maybe they added too much? The A/C actually still works just fine (I haven't run it a lot, but it has been run and works well), but I'm worried that there may not be enough oil left in the system and it's just a matter of time before the compressor siezes.

I also can't tell exactly where the leak is. It's NOT around the hose assembly connection. There is a decent build up around the control valve assembly (I think that's what it is). I can't tell for sure if anything was coming out of the pressure relief valve, but it doesn't look like it.

It appears that all the oil dumped pretty much at one time (either when I started the car or after I parked in my garage). Since then, I've seen a couple of drops of oil appear, but after climbing underneath, I can see that it was probably just residual oil/dye dripping from the areas where it had collected.

Here's a picture of the the spot that was left behind.

Is my compressor toast? Is it just some sort of blow off from being overfilled? Should I just get a shop to look at it?

Any ideas? Should I be looking for a new compressor?

replace compressor, dryer and orifice tube. Be sure to flush the system and only use new gm parts and not autozone or oreilly crap. You will be doing it twice.

I've got a compressor, drier, and o-tube on order. I'll be doing all the hardware myself, but there's a very good local AC shop that will be draining and recharging my system. When I told them what I saw and the fact that the AC will actually still run and is fully charged, they said that I shouldn't bother with a flush. The real test on that will be if there's anything in the orifice tube...

I'm guessing I blew a seal in the compressor, but that everything is still in tact. I'll tell you though, it's hard to not turn that half busted thing on when it's over 100 degrees out. Each time I'm tempted, I just ask myself if I want to have to pay another $80 for a flush and who knows what else I might have to replace. At least I have T-Tops...

i had the same problem but my A/C went out also i took it to the shop and they told me that some aftermarket part add to my car kept rubbing against the one of the A/C hoses and finely just made a hole. So end of story i had to pay about 700 dollars to get a new hose.
