I bought an 01 WS6 about a month ago. All stock with the exception of exhaust including headers and on back, a mass flow air intake sensor, skip shift bypass, and a Hurst short throw shifter. Lately I've noticed that when I push in the clutch when I'm coming to a stop or even shifting a low RPMs it will idle out at 1200 sometimes 1300. Before this in normally would drop down to 900 if I held the clutch in. I don't have any heat or air conditioning running. Also, the car doesn't always do this right away, I usually notice it when I've been driving in heavier traffic that requires more stop and go driving and more clutch work. I recently cleaned out my K&N filter and thought maybe some of the oil I used on the filter had made its way into the throttle body so I cleaned it out and it did seem to work for a couple of days, but sure enough it's back and doing it again. I'm not nearly as sure where the best place to start on a problem like this is with a fuel injected motor. Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

Make sure you clean you the little passages at the top of the throttle body really good. That's the idle speed controller part. Alot of people don't clean that well and just clean the main area of the TB.

I kinda got the same problem, except mine is 1200 -1500 all day long! i have an A4 w shift kit. ive been cleaning everything in the intake side and starting to look for vacuum lines i dont know about or sumthin! im kinda clueless!! if any body has ANY good ideas be much appreciated!!!!

my car has a similar problem, but sometimes the rpm's do drop down where they should be. sucky

i thought to check that with my jet dynamic software, but i still cant get that thing to communicate with the car yet! once i figure it out i post the tps reading

Not sure exactly whats causing it. I cleaned out the throttle body like the first message suggested and it seemed to get a bit better but it's still there. My neighbor used to be a mechanic and recommended a Barryman's product called B-12 Chemtool. I'm having a bit of trouble finding it but all the reviews and all the people I've talked to highly recommend it. If that doesn't clear it out I'm not sure what else I'm going to do. It's **** like this that makes me miss my 78 Z28.
