What kind of oil?
What kind of oil? Hi, i am getting headers and ls6 intake on thursday and dyno tuned. I have a 98 Z28 and it has 92,000miles. I was going to put mobil 1 in it but someone told me to keep putting what has been in it because mobil 1 can hurt my car if that was not what was put in. The problem is i dont know what was put in and i cannot find out so what should i put in. Sorry for another oil thread but i dont know what to do. thanks
Who ever told you that is an idiot. Mobil 1 will not hurt your car in anyway. Use whatever brand oil you feel comfortable with. Mobil 1, German castrol, Amsoil, Pennzoil Platinum...are a few good full synthetic oils that i've used in the past. Out of them, Mobil 1 and Pennzoil Platinum are probably the easiest/cheapest to find..You can find both of them at WalMart. Check out bobistheoilguy.com for hours of reading about motor oil.

I have almost 90,000 miles on my 436ci stroker engine and it still purrs like a kitten. I have always used regular ole' NON-synthetic oil, 20-50. In my opinion, synthetic is over-hyped BS. Regular oil has been working for 100+ years, its perfect for any engine as long as you change it every 2,500-3,000.
Save your money, use regular oil.
Period.

yeah i heard that synthetics will lose there lubricate over time...where regular oils will not . I ran castrol syn. in mine for while and then got tired of paying 40 dollars for oil every other month...i love castol 10-30..its been know to up you oil pressure a little.
