Default Loud squealing noise on startup!? wtf??

I went to go look at a LS1 that has been sitting for a while and the battery was dead. It only has 29xxx miles on it and looked well cared for. He used some jumpers and I started her up. I immediately herd a loud squealing noise, then after a min or two it went away. On my test drive it was not present. I never herd a noise like this so im wondering what it could have been. It sounded like nails on a chalk board kinda squealing. very loud and nasty!

There are only 2 belts and I would say it was the main serpentine belt. You can get a new one for about $20!

It's doing that because at low RPMs you have a huge draw from the alternator (due to the bad battery) so it takes a lot of torque to turn it. Replace or charge the battery and I'll bet you your squeak goes away.
