Default Turn Signal Issues

Well I've posted my questions about my weird turn signal issue.

Front turn signals (both) will flash if you bring the stalk right where it is engages the turn signals (either direction). However, if you push them past that or engage the stalk fully then the front lights (both) stay solid. The taillights flash as they should. This only occurs with the parking lights or headlights on.

Fuses, flashers, grounds, etc all look good and some replaced since they are cheap.

Buddy of mine and I thought that the turn signal switch in the column was bad so I replaced it this weekend. Unfortunately I have the same problem after doing all that work.

Could the stalk be bad? Could it be the headlight switch or dimmer? Any ideas?

What about the sockets that the bulbs go in(any kind of corrosion)??? Also check the continuity on them if you can. If you have sorry, but trying to help Plus i just saw that you have LEDs, where are they tapped into. If something from them is in conjunction with your running lights, etc.. that could be an issue. Try diconnecting them for trouble-shooting purposes if you haven't already.

Sockets all look good. The front two were replaced sometime ago because they were in bad shape. The LEDs are drop in replacements and have been working perfectly for over 8 months now.

I'm not going to dive overboard on ya, i work on aircraft avionics and don't know how much your familiar with electronics but it looks like you can hold your own. You try the daytime running light module behind the stereo/console. My buddy has a 97SS and told me he had a similar problem and it was that module for his. Although if you want he also has a wiring diagram which should be identical for you except for lightbulb locations and find out what the front turnals work with in common??? i know the front turn signals are considered the daytime running lights. i don't remember the price of it, but it sure pissed my buddy off and he spent a little time disabling it from the car. Hope this helps more. I'll post back tomorrow with what I find,
Mike

Thanks for looking into this. Another forum member suggested I look into that module but my electrical ability is pretty limited unless shown what to do exactly lol. He described a method of bypassing the module to see if my problem is resolved. I have yet to attempt it because I'm a bit bashful tearing into my headunit area.

I may just be forced to go ahead and take a look at it to see if the problem can be resolved.

I can prob get the module for ~$70+shipping.

Let me know what you happen to find out. Thanks again.

I talked to my buddy again and he was telling me it is the module, he had the same exact problem. On his, his AC was building condensation right above the module and basicly dripping right on it. I looked at the diagram and there's not much else there that has anything in common that you haven't replaced really. That's what I came up with, but the same thing will happen again eventually because of the condensation problems. There is a kit to fix it but it's way damn expensive and Stacy(buddy) said it was like $400!!! The only thing the kit does is flip the mount upside down so water can't come into the connector for the module??? That's kinda bullshit, but hope this helps even more.

Good to know about the condensation issue. This may make a lot of sense because I actually recharged my A/C recently because it wasn't really blowin the cold air I was used to (I rarely ever used it). I put an order in today for a new module unit so I will certainly post back if this solves the problem or not so others can see. Thanks again for asking your buddy.

Didn't fix my problem .

I also found out that either the fronts will flash or the rears. Both will not at the same time.
