Another AC problem
Another AC problem I would appreciate any feedback on this as it has been over 100 degrees here in Atlanta. I also did a search, but the search was not working.
To make a long story short, the AC is working, the air coming out is cool; however, the air is barely coming out and is only coming out of the top vent. It worked fine a few days ago, but now I cannot switch vents. I'm not sure what the problem is.

That stuff is vacuum actuated, if you have excessively low
vacuum (idle w/ cam) maybe it's too weak to pull the flaps
right. But this would get better at higher RPM, higher vacuum.
If it's just bad altogether look for a loss of source vacuum,
a vacuum leak at the manifold would also follow this (hose
off, cracked fittings, cracked vacuum diaphragm etc. Might
check by ear for a hiss of vacuum under the dash. You could
pull the little control panel and check that it is receiving good
vacuum and whether it is switching vacuum between the
various outlet ports.

Ok, I checked the hoses, but could not find anything broken, cracked or unattached. Hmmm, I wonder if it's that control valve that you mentioned. Any idea where that is located?
I found the problem. The vacuum hose coming from the intake had a kink in it. Straightened the hose, problem solved. Man I feel like an idiot. Oh well, at least it was a cheap fix.
