Weird window problem
Weird window problem My driver side window will not roll down. Whenever the window button is pressed down, the window will roll down 1/4" and then stop while the motor (i guess) makes a loud grinding sound. Any ideas of what this is? Window motor, gears, regulator?? Any help is appreciated.

Has anyone found the fix to this? I have the exact same problem. I cant see anything blocking the path but the motor is trying to bring the window down but only goes about 1/4in before it stops and grinds.
Sounds like the motor. On my 91 Trans Am, the passenger motor did the same thing a month back. 1/4 down and a machine gun sound. The motor was bad. I replaced it, and everything was back to normal. Yours is likely bad as well.
