Default A couple small problems...

Ok, I have three things on the dash of my '93 Z28 A4 that I would like to fix...

First off, the trip odometer doesn't work. The normal one does, but the trip does not.

Second and third are both similar and hopefully fixed by the same thing (I'm crossing my fingers). The fasten seatbelt light and the low fluid level (I'm assuming coolant maybe? I haven't read the manual yet and don't really know) lights are on all the time. They are very close to each other. Could there be a fuse or something messed up somewhere? No fluid level is low, I checked it all, and obviously I put my seatbelt on and the light was still on for that too. lol.

Any ideas on those things? Thanks for the help,.

Ok, one more thing. I just found out how to figure out what my SES light was on for and it was DTC 26. Here is a link to a site that explains it: http://www.fastbird93.com/diagnostics/dtc26p1.jpg

I don't really know what that does, if it is going to hurt anything leaving it, or how to fix it. What do you guys think? Still looking for solutions for the other things too.

The low coolant light is most likely a bad sensor if there's no air in the system and coolant level is fine and no overheating, it's on the radiator a few inches below the radiator cap. You can replace it, or disconnect it and the light will stay off.

Ok, that worked. Now I'll just have to get it replaced . Thanks.

Last night i was looking around for something that would make the seatbelt light come on and when I was looking from behind the driver's seat at the part where the seatbelt goes into the plastic part there was a little black plug that was laying there apart (coming from in the plastic covered part of the seatbelt). I was excited for a second because I thought that it was just unplugged and that would fix it plugging it back in, but it didn't. The light is still on. Anyone know what the little black plug is for and why it might have been unplugged?

I would take the part that the seat belt snaps into apart and check for a bad connection, or maybe if you can see the two connections jump them with a paper clip and see if the light goes out. If that doesn't work you will have to start chasing wires to see where the problem is.
