is this the opti (please help) ok i have a 94 firehawk i can drive it about 7-10 miles fine then it will all of a sudden jerk(miss really bad) the check engine light will come on and it starts running allitle better. i have replaced the ign. coil,and tested the ign. control module, so the only thing i can think of is the opti. It shot codes (36) ign. system prob. loss of high Res. pulse signal. and also code (42) ign. system prob. elec. spark timing (EST) is grounded.

I think the last time I worked on one that had those codes the distributor bearing was going out and the sensor was rubbing inside the distributor. Yes,in laymans terms,the optispark.
