the weirdest thing just happend I was racing this 08 vette today and when I let up off the gas the car stayed at WOT even as I braked the car kept wanting to go. I had my foot all the way on the brake with the e brake pulled and the Rpms stayed at 6000 for about 45 seconds and then it slowly came down. Any idea what the hell that could have been?

Wow, just thinking about that makes me sick to my stomach. Glad you're alright and at least you didn't have an accident. If it ever happens again cut the key off.....however be prepared to lose steering when you do that. I remember reading on the board about somebody who did that and the steering wheel locked which caused him to go off the road.

Also, if you have to kill the engine do be aware your brakes will not be easy to use - they'll still work but you'll have to pretty much stand on the pedal to get any braking power to speak of.

That sounds like what the Cobra guys have been going through.Ford had so many complaints they finally had to issue a public recall on over 20,000 03 & 04 Cobras for sticking gas pedal's.
Seems the carpet would catch hold of the pedal & cause it to stay at full throttle.

No, thats what happens when you have a cam and you DONT have a stall, because the car will want to pull through the brakes. With a stall its alot looser and it will just sit or creep forward easy.
bad bad bad idea if the gas pedal is stuck you are gonna redline the motor unless you pop it in neutral after you kill the engine via turning the key
