a/c issue

a/c issue it's kind of weird but here is what it is doing....
the low to high speed level works, it blows lightly or full blast, it blows cold when set at a/c and hot when on hot. the defrost work when i set it to defrost. but it only blows out the defrost and the floor. i can't get any air to go into the upper vents? any help?

I'm not sure if the switch on these cars is electric or cable driven but for whatever reason your "flapper" (very technical term) isn't moving to direct airflow when you change to setting.
Your mode door doesnt sound like its functioning properly. These cars use vacuum to operate the doors. If the main vacuum line is restricted or not plugged in, it will default the door to the floor/defrost position. Try checking the vacuum line in the engine compartment. It runs from the rear of the manifold over towards the PCM, then heads through the firewall into the passenger compartment. Make sure its plugged in and there arent any cracks, kinks, or restrictions of any kind.
This happens a lot when any intake manifold work is done. Sometimes people forget to plug that vacuum line back in then have HVAC problems.
