possibly bad motor mounts

possibly bad motor mounts my 00 ws6 makes a minor knock when i get down on it after downshifting, like a bad mount would do. i just replaced my tranny mount with one of the polyurethane ones so its not the tranny mount. i was wondering if this could be the result of a bad motor mount. help please
bad engine mounts the engine would rock around alot, could be a bad engine mount(s), but even when they go bad their designed only to go so far then they max out metal metal to prevent major twisting.
sounds like they are going bad and your exhaust might be hitting the floorboard? does the car have aftermarket exhaust. and glad you went with poly tranny mouns those help out alot, now u might need to do poly engine mounts so you dont have to do either one again. also the clunk could be the torque arm mount neat the tranny as well.

Go out and do a little "hand rev" (manually open the TB). You will know if the mounts are broken, trust me.
If that seems fine, and you still think they are bad, get it up on stands and just have a look at the rubber. Is it cracked/brittle/worn looking? It might not be broken but it can still be worn out.

thanks i will probably go with poly mounts soon anyway but right now i gotta deal with a damn clutch replacement.... great fun and expensive too.i will look at the mounts to see if they are shot but will end up replacing them anyways because of what formula350 said...
