Default Thinking it is a dead battery

I went to start my car this morning and all the dash lights flickered on and went out and the alarm keeps ticking. I disconnected the battery and cleaned the terminals and still got nothing, the interior and dash lights won't come on, just the alarm light keeps blinking and ticking rapidly. The battery is maybe a year and half old. I only checked a couple of fuses and they were good to go. Have not had a chance to test the battery yet, just looking for some suggestions. Thanks for your time

It sounds like your battery. Charge it up and go on about your business.

I am stationed at Nellis AFB in Las Vegas NV, the base sucks but I do love the surronding area. I never charged the battery before, I usually just buy a new one. How long does a charged up battery last? Thanks for the replies.

I got the battery tested at autozone and it passed, the guy topped it off for me. I put the battery back in the car and it started however, it sounded like it wanted to stall and the rpms were really low. I gave it some gas and it still seemed like it wanted to stall and then the rpms bounced back up. It did this off and on for about 5 minutes. I have no idea what could be wrong.

It started up fine, no problems, no issues. The only thing I could think of was something was wrong with alarm system.
