Default Where to get this Done?

Long story short, I bought my car with 24k on it, and am now running on 30k. It is a 99 year. I can tell all fluids besides engine oil are the original fluids from when it came off the lot. Not good.

Most of you know I bought all the fluids and filters to deck out my car, and change every fluid (coolant, engine, rear end, tranny, brake, clutch, etc etc) for its 30k service coming up sometime within the year.

However, I am in the most terrible place to work on my car: renting a house that is parked on the street during college. I literally change my oil in the rain on the road where everyone drives by etc.

I just checked the brake and clutch fluid and the crap is TERRIBLE. It's a 99 and I can tell its the original brake fluid in both systems. YUCK! It is think and blacker than burnt oil and I can't believe my brakes and clutch even work. It's disgusting.

I just made a ton of money, working my *** off, and I'd like to get these fluids flushed/changed ASAP. I cannot wait till summer when I can use my friends lift, it needs to get done now and I don't have the help/work area to do it myself. My question is, should I take it in to get both changed at my Dealership or at an independent place.

I wonder because the dealership theoretically knows the car better (but that depends who you got working on your car) but I don't know.

What do you guys think? Where should I go?

If you don't mind spending the money, I would take it to a dealership as opposed to a Jiffy Lube/lube shop type place, at least that way you will have a real mechanic working on your car. As for an independent repair shop, if there is one near you with a good reputation I wouldn't be afraid to go that route either, after all they will be looking at the same manuals as the dealership will.

Thats very true.

Thing is my friends boyfriend works at a Jiffy Lube and I met him a few weeks back. Real nice guy and all, but seemed kinda "not all their" if you know what I mean.

It sucks because he offered to pretty much do the work for me for nickels and dimes because he likes me and my car, but it's just my gut feeling is he won't do it right (not that he wouldn't "try" to, though.)

I bet the dealership charges out the *** for these maintenances haha.

It doesn't even have to a dealership. Any shop you can trust not to **** up your fenders when lifting it should be able to handle changing all the fluids.

Yeah the thing is that my fenders are already messed up. The only thing done to the car when I bought it were LT Headers and TSP True Duals... so I'm assuming when the guy got them installed they used the fender tabs.

So I have to fix that too.

Fawk.

Thanks for the advise and links man.

I'm going to try it out next time I change the oil or something. I looked underneath the drivers side with a mirror the other day and it looks fixable, but the pass. side is bent way the **** out and looks like it's smashed to hell. I hope it is fixable.
