Default Squeaking and accelerating VERY slow. Whats wrong?

This week my car has been acting really wierd.

Its driving as if I 'm getting no traction, when I actually have new tires in the back. Whenever I start driving from a stop or I shift gears, I have to take the RPMs really high just to get moving. I can occasionally heard a squeaking noise coming from the engine bay that sounds like steam leaving a kettle.

What could it be?

All of my temps are normal

I forgot to mention that my AC compressor is going bad, so that may be the reason I hear that wierd noise. I think the AC has been on each of the 3 times I've heard the noise.

So far I'm thinking its the clutch. My problem is the same as this guy...

I'm almost certain its the clutch. I just did some reading on bad clutch symptoms. My car definitely has "the feel of a burnout, without the tire spin" and had a nasty smell twice this week.

If it is the clutch...about how much would it cost for a shop to do it? Is this something I can do at home with some help?

I'm not talking about the Ac compressor clutch. I think I have a bad clutch for the tranny or w/e...
