Tea kettle like whistle. Just like the title, I have a kettle like whistle coming from under the hood and Im guessing its the drivebelt. I was wondering, whats the life of these things? I last replaced it about 2 years ago but I guess it could also be the second smaller accessory belt. Thanks for any help.

there are 2 idler pulleys, one for the main belt tensioner and the other for the a/c. Remove them and regrease the bearings. When I took mine out, the bearings were dry. A little moisture like a rainy day and it was chirping like mad.

I have a very slight whistle at idle, I don't hear it at higher RPMs. I also had the chirping sound once when it was raining out and it has never come back. I'll have to grease the bearings some day.
That sounds like the AIR pump. They tend to make a whistle sound after free flowing exhausts are put on the car and will shut on and off almost randomly.
