ENGINE OVERHAUL ...help please!!! well first off im new to the car stuff...i just recently bought a 2000 trans am with 140k on it... drives good and everything car had small leaks ...recently replaced clutch,fly wheel as well as the hydraulics...also had full tune up done..but the car still leaks maybe even worse than before...so im thinking it may be he gaskets...but yea i have about 4000 saved up... and i just wanted to know if an engine overhaul/gasket replacments would stop any of the leaks...who knows maybe ill have money for some mods after 
... oh and im 19 so i really dont know too much yet..im working on it tho take it easy on me thanks for the help

Where is the leak coming from, and what fluids are leaking would be my first questions. If its oil and its coming from the back of the block considering you just did the clutch you may have knocked loose the plug in the back of the crank to leak oil, and while you were doing the clutch when the flywheel was off could you see any leaks around the crank where the rear main seal is?

I actually had the clutch put in at a shop so i couldnt say...its actually kinda hard to tell where its leaking from...but yea it looks its right around that area...just every time i park the car u know a little puddle of oil will be left behind...ill check it out tomorrow man then ill let you know for sure....but could u tell me if an overhaul would stop any other leaks if it has any..what exactly is done when getting it overhauled...thanks
I think you would have to specify to a mechanic what you wanted done. If the clutch was installed by a shop, i would first ask them if the rear main seal appeared to be leaking. If it was, i would be surprised because i would think they would tell you and try to get more money out of you to fix it. If it wasnt then they may have tweaked the plug in the back of the crank and this may lead to a leak....altho i dont think that would cause a leak while the car was parked. Could also be the oil pan. I think you should actually get the car up in jack stands and confirm it is oil leaking and where it is coming from and maybe we can all help a little more.

if u can borrow a car for a bit have them machine it.... do some eagle/scat/callie rods (300-500) and some JE pistons for about 700 and be done with it and spray later
