WD40 on tensioner????

WD40 on tensioner????

I went to a lube place and got my coolant flushed out and of course spilled on the belts and they did a great job and clean everything up with water but i have a belt squeek now. I think it is the upper tensioner so i was wondering if i could spray WD40 to stop the squeek cause i read that belt spray will make it worse or do i need to replace the tensioner now.

WD40 isn't going to last long. You can try it, and if the squeel goes away, then you have definately identified the source of your noise.

I know thats going to be a quick fix so what will be a long term fix. Replace the tensioner??? is there another way??

yeah, the bearing is a sealed design, and WD40 will not do much for it. You can buy a new pulley for 20 bucks or so, or if you tensioner is flopping all over the place, you'll have to replace the entire assembly (little bit more cash).
