The throttle position sensor on my Tacoma is throwing a check engin light. Should I try to clean it before I spend $100. If so with what some contact cleaner or sea foam?

 

I would use the contact cleaner. Of all the years of working on cars it seems like the foreign cars MAF's just plain die for some reason; and the american cars can be cleaned and just keep on truckin'. I hope that it is under warranty for your wallets sake!

 

No warrenty on a 95 Tacoma but I got some $5 contact cleaner and its alot cheaper than a $115 sensor. Ill try and clean it this weekend.

Thats why I am gona fix my sensor and there not gona get me.

 

TPS is only maybe $30, IAC on the other hand is $100.
