Temporary No Crank?
Temporary No Crank? Today when I stopped at the Post Office and when I came back out my car wouldnt crank. Battery gauge was past half, no cel, fuel pump would prime and radio and gauges would lose power when attempting to crank. After about 5-10 mins of attemping to get it to crank and thinking why it wasn't it just cranked over. But it had a slight delay, like I cranked and 1/2 sec later the starter turned over. I then when to advance auto and it started up nice and strong when I left there. Any idea what could have caused this? Bad starter solenoid mayby? Loose wire?

Well did the seafom treatment on the sticky and smoked up a 100ft x 20 ft section of road. Now to change the fuel filter after I run through this tank of gass as well as the oil. Then plugs and call it a day.
Whoops meant to post this is the bad gas mileage thread, terminals are tight and I guess I can just wait and see if the problem rearrises.

I vote bad solenoid. This just happened to me and it seemed like it only started right up with it was warm but when it was cold you have to keep cranking over and over for like 30 times and then it fires. Yeah, I changed my starter and I dont have this problem anymore!
It dosent crank though, and I had just stopped after driving for an hour doing errands. I read in the elec section where someone had similar a problem but it was because their key chip wasnt interfacing right and would not let their car start. But it seemed like mine was trying the the light dimming and all... also dont remember whether the security light came on.
