Just for your information. My 2002 Z28 lost the cam sensor. It started and ran, but had no tach. That and the CEL were my only clue something was wrong. It ran fine. Took a couple extra seconds to start but nothing that bad.

I dont know about the wiring, but the crank sensor was replaced and the cam sensor is either fine or was replaced.

Hell if you have the money, might as well at least build a forged bottom end. If not, just have them do the reluctor wheel and put it back together

I dont really have the money, but Id like to work with payments and go forged bottom end. and either way labors gonna cost me a bunch and they said you should at minimum change the bearings and polish the crank. so its worth it to do a rebuild while Im at it...

I need some input to this thread, regarding that issue please.. https://ls1tech.com/forums/generation-iii-internal-engine/864708-383-346-a.html

They dont know what caused that to happen... They are still gonna investigate and take it fully apart to see if anything is damaged, and possible how it happened. They ssaid theyve never seen anything like that before..

My guess is the "Valvetrain noise" I may have been hearing was probably the reluctor wheel noise?

i beleive its connected on the back of the crank shaft, and its what the crank pos sensor reads by counting teeth to detect spark, fueling, and misfires ;D

I don't know what or how the reluctor wheel could get destroyed. Im not sure how there put on the crank, welded or pressed, but I would think it would have to come off while it was running to get destroyed. I want to here more about this and I would like to see pics because this is a first for me.

Ill post pics when I tear apart my engine. right now I ordered a 402

https://ls1tech.com/forums/generation-iv-internal-engine/878042-ordered-402-block-going-5-3-heads.html

and Im gonna assume what I though was my "valvetrain rattling noise" and my idle dying at times was the noise of the reluctor wheel??
