yea jester's right, i had the same problem...put the car in the iginition position, or even if the car is on...it doesn't matter, press and hold the trip/odometer reset **** for 12 seconds, it will turn off and not come back on again until the computer hits the next 3000 miles

This is how I reset mine.

Turn on ignition (do not start) and press the gas pedal 3 times quickly to the floor and turn off ignition. Start car and check to make sure the light stays off.

your 100% on everything except for the time.

the F-body oil change system kinda sucks it goes off how the users operates the vehicle to some degree you can go anywhere between 3,000-8,000 miles before it will kick on.

the big thing is change the oil how you want to just don't forget to reset the light. because the comuter has no idea when you change the oil.

Won't this flood the engine with gas?

^ No
I don't follow the change oil light, i worry that thing might not come on when it should. Just keep track of your mileage, then just reset change oil light when you change the oil.
