Windshield wiper woes...
Beautiful rainy night last night here in DC... Wipers on high and working great, then they switch to low and subsequently stop... Moments later they begin working (I had been trying different settings with no luck)
After making my way to a spot where I can pull over I check fuses and make sure the path for the moving parts under the cowl is free… After testing and cussing I find that if I just turn them on for a sweep or two or just use mist I can at least make it home…
Symptoms:
--Any speed (High/Low/Intermittent) on for ~10sec causes the wipers to quit completely for ~30sec
--High speed no longer works, blades move at low speeds
--Can use Mist, Intermittent and Low speeds for only a few seconds before the blades stop working
--Blades do not “Park” after being shut off
Personal opinion… I need a new wiper motor… Looking for some help, advice on troubleshooting

CAn't help you with diagnosising, but I can give a word of warning: my parent's car ran into a similar problem and they relied on using the mist/washer as a temporary measure. Ended up burning out the washer fluid pump, so they had to pay to replace that as well.

Check the connections on your actual switch that goes into the column, my thirdgen did the same thing it was a contact that wasn't making proper contact. Once cleaned the wipers worked fine and still do til this day
