Cleaned MAF and o2 Sensors and what a diff
Well last weekend I raced one of my friends who has a 02 Trans AM WS6 M6 and his mods are 4.10's, long tubes, full exhaust, cutout, lid, and that's about it. I have the mods below... Well we raced from like a 45 roll to about 115 or so and i only pulled about 1 car... i wasn't too thrilled about that so i figured my car might be down on power.
So I'm starting to do some routine maintenance on it. I know the O2 sensors in the front are both bad so i replaced those today and cleaned the maf and air filter out. I have a few more things left that I'm planning before spring. I'm going to Seafoam the car, change the plugs, fuel filter, and get a nitrous dyno tune. Is there anything else i should take care of?
Well anyway after i did the few things i did to it today i took it out for a spirited drive. I mean my god! It felt worlds of difference from just those small things. I mean it felt like the front end even raised higher when i got on it. I mean it has always felt pretty strong but not like today. I mean the car smells better and doesn't burn as much gas or smell like fuel and it even seems to idle smoother... I mean i guess the small things make a big difference sometimes.
But i knew i was possible down on power when last season i was running like 12.2-12.3's at around 114 and last year the best i could pull was a 12.45 @ 111. But yah it made a difference. I just wanted to share my happyness!!

They were just cheap ones i got off the internet. The brand was SNG but they seem to work just fine. I think i paid like $40 bucks total for the front two. But it seems they made a world of difference.

It felt like it made a difference on mine. But maybe because both o2 sensors have been shot for a long time. My airfilter, maf, and tb where also fairly dirty. But it seemed to have made a difference to me.

I know what you mean man, i put in a new MAF a few month's back and i noticed a huge improvement in my car. The original MAF went to ****, and i remember that when i took in to Autozone to find out why my "Service Engine Soon" light was on....They told me it was my MAF, & O2 Sensor's, & Bad Spark Plug's.
So ive changed the MAF, but not the other 2. Im fixing to buy some new spark plug wiring, then get the new plugs installed. Question though, how hard was it to change the O2 Sensor's????

Use Non-Chlorinated Brake Clean (green can) to clean the MAF. It's cheaper.
I would stay away from Bosch O2 plugs. I put a 3 wire in my truck in replacement of the stocker that had 260K miles on it and my mpg went from 16-13.5. And believe me, I log my mileage each tank. The word is that they are built to run rich; therefore, avoiding a potential lean scenario and costing them money in a lawsuit. I would only go w/ a factory O2 sensor.
