fuel pump heating

I recently had a post stating that after long spirited drives, my car would start crapping out, only to run fine an hour later, is it possible that this could be caused by the fuel pump overheating? not failing, just over heating, cus in the cool the car runs amazing. If it is possible for it to overheat, what can i do about it??

If you have enough gas in you tank I dont think a stock fuel pump can overheat. Maybe with your gears its at higher rpms to much tho.

We'll, when the pump would crap out i was at about half a tank still, and im almost 100% positive this is the problem now, i there any way to keep it cooler?

Not that I know of just the gas to keep it cool

The fuel pump runs in a bucket. If there is any gas at all in the tank the bucket is full and the pump is submerged. I doubt our problem is with the pump.
