Put a stall converter in it and that will take care of that 30mph dead spot. It will no longer have any dead spot!! I ran a best of 13.60 @ 104mph stock with lid and exhaust. Then I put on a set of hooker L/Ts and a PTC 3600 stall converter and went 12.60 @ 108mph.. Call PTC best bang for the buck!!

like what was said a stall will help alleviate the dead spot but that dead spot isn't because your car isn't working right its there because its the nature of the beast either get over it or get a higher stall

stall.. gears will do a LITTLE bit.. but mainly if you go to 373s... your just going to change your dead spots.. thats why anytime someone wants to race a stock ls1.. they usually want to go from 35..
323s and 273s are different though.. i think with 273s it will kick down at like 34 and my 373s kick doing at like 28.. but im not 100% on that...
actually best way to solve your problem come to think of it.. forge.. H/C.. procharger.. 9".. built trans.. some suspension and tires....
^^^^ no dead spots.. anywhere..... ever.. lol

30 is a total deadspot and your in the way way way bottom of 2nd year. SO obviously if you hit it from 20-25 it will downshift so you have alot more power. I have a stall in my car and at 30mph the car just gets loud but doesnt move. I am going to do a 3.73 to fix that problem but it will still be a lil slugish im sure

i have a 01 auto and i kick down nasty right at 30mph i call it my sweet spot, i got the car used i doubt it has gears cause the rest was all stock but yeah when i race i love to roll right at 30 then hit it. i feel more of a dead spot from 40 to 50 but after 50 it will pull from any speed
yeah sucks when you race a pos and you dont kick down then have to play catch up to pass them

Yeah man I know but I will need it sooner or later like you said. I have full boltons and a cam going in sooner or later and a very small dry shot. So once I do some suspension and do the 3.73 that car will really rip out of the hole which is what im shooting for and also it will be nice on like a 40mph roll espicially on the gas

just the same.. if you drop it into second.. you are in second.. same amount of power....
if your car can.. when you floor it, it will automatically <<< get it automatic..... kick down to the lowest possible gear.. you putting it in that gear is a waste of time..
this has been discussed and BEATEN to death so many times before.. YOU CANT OUTSHIFT an automatic.. leave it in drive and floor it.. if you want to "drop it into second" or manual shift.. ex. from a dig shift from 1st to 2nd to 3rd.... BUY A MANUAL.. otherwise leave it in D and floor it...

Mine's an A4 with 3:73's and I wasn't satisified until I got a PT4000 stall converter put in a couple weeks ago. A lot of M6's and other various manual cars would take advantage and want to roll race from that speed because they KNEW it was my weakest roll speed. Now, the problem is gone and I roll race from any speed. You seriously need a T/C. With GU5 3:23 gears out back, you could get away with larger, but, it takes some getting used to. After owning two Yank SS3600's, I decided to go bigger ... this PT4000 is loose on the street, but, that's how I like it.
Some folks say when it comes to converters, 'go big or stay home'. I say 'go big or stay slow'.
