Default Horn problem?

Hey guys, my 2000 WS6 is doing something weird, when i lock the doors either with the keyless fob or from inside, about three seconds later my horn honks twice. I have owned my car for a little over a year now and it just started this like three months ago. I called the pontiac place and they had no idea so i thought i'd hit the LS1 minds on here, Thanks

it sounds like your car alarm. but it is only supposed to honk once when you lock it, and twice when you unlock it with the fob...sounds to me like you have some wire crossed

Well that is what i thought at first but it does do the little one half honk when you do the key fob, then two seconds later it lets out two full loud honks.

mine honks twice when i lock it, once if i lock it with and a door or something is not closed all the way, and no honks when I unlock it, unless the alarm was set off.

had your same problem. your shock sensor is bad. get in the back and remove the plastic where the spare tire and amp is, on the wheel well, there is a little black sensor taped to it. replace that.

search.........

replace the horns, commom problem is the jumper wire between the two horns, but it usually breaks in the horn body itself, so its easier to replace the entire horn assembly, rather than taking the horn itself apart to repair the jumper wire.

You have two horns a high and a low frequency one the low horn probably went out leaving the high one on its own....
