Default water pump,,new opti???

well looks like my pro street burnout i just had to do the other day during my once a month trip around the block in my rarely driven 97 30th Z did a number on the still stock water pump.my question is the opti spark has about 10,000 miles on it and im the dummy who put the stock water pump back on before you rag me.do you think to be safe the opti needs to be changed again ,,,i know that moisture is the number one killer .water pump is pouring out of weep hole,,and i dont know if i dare just change water pump and leave opti but like i said it has about 10,000 on it and it was a direct factory replacementfrom gm.what would you guys do?

Being a '97 you have a vented opti, these do not have nearly as many moisture related problems as the non vented ones did. Personally I wouldn't replace it unless it is giving you problems.

Being the opti is that new you will be fine. Shame on you for reusing the waterpump. At work if we do an opti it's an automatic waterpump like it or not.
