Default Hurst Short Throw Problem?

I just put in my hurst comp plus shifter in my 95 z28 and i like the way it feels but when i took it for a test drive it kind of felt like something was out of wack. When you are driving through any gear, after the clutch is fully engaged and you are fully in gear, it feels like there is an ever so slight grinding. I had to turn the radio off and really get close to the shifter to hear it. You can also just barely feel it in the shifter. Is this normal? I read the instructions and it didnt say anything about adjusting shift points or anything like that. Did i miss something? Thanks

It's probably vibrating off the the stop bolts. See where they at and make the adjustments. There should be one in 12 and 6 o clock position.

Same thing here. I followed the instructions and still had to back off the stop bolts a little bit more to get the gears to engage fully/well.

you may be experiencing the more vibration due to the lack of rubber in the stock shifter. however, back off your stop screws a little and see what happens.

Yup I agree when I cut my stock boot I got more noise out of my pro 5.0 as well. Just back off the stop bolts.

alot of what you are hearing is normal tranny noise that's now amplified by the metal stick with no bushings.

i have that shifter and had the same one in my stang.. both yielded the same noise.

the key is that it engages ALL THE WAY into the gear and is not being forced back by the stop.

with the motor off put the car in gear and move the stop until it ever so slightly contacts the shifter, but does not nudge it.

What is the model # of your shifter? I though Hurst only made the Billet/Plus shifter for these cars. (They do have stop bolts.) Do you have the stock transmission?
