Default Slight Problem

Ok well i just got done racing a GSXR on the highway and beat him lol, but anyways after i got home i went inside and then my gf came home so i had to move my car. Well i start my car and it acts like it wants to die then the RPMs go up back to normal and idles and runs fine, Im wondering if this is early stages of my fuel pump going out??? i hear a whining sound when i turn the key and after i shut off the car. Its been like this for acouple months with the whining but the idle problem just started. I changed the fuel filter and my plugs are new and no codes are coming up so im thinking its the fuel pump, anyone else have this problem before??? any ideas???

Gotta love how people Classify GSXR's as a whole. That's like saying I Beat LSX's with a bolt on GSXR 600. When then truth is there's how many different variations of the LSX.

I'm not doubting you beat a GSXR of small displacement and or early generation. But to sit there and say you beat GSXR 1000 with a Bolt on LS1 sounds crazy to me. Because for 1, I own both and a bolt on LS1 car won't even come close to a GSXR 1000.

This reminds me of the Video that is on Youtube of the Turbo Trans am Rolling on with a YZF 1000 R Sport touring bike. Buddy is in a wheelie on a slow *** YZF 1000 R then puts it down while they are door to door. Then the TA pulls a few lengths slowly. You hear the camera guy Say " Dude that was a GSXR baby!". When the truth is he saw an R on the bike and assumed it was a Gixxer. Meanwhile he just raced a 130WHP Lunch box of a bike.

Get off his case. Not everyone can distinguish a bike from another. In any case, 130 hp on a bike that weighs no more than 500 lbs should eat up a monstorus 3600-lb car. But it doesn't, so what's the point of bitching. So, how about straightening your skirt and helping the guy out. To the OP, yes, it sounds like a fuel pump.

Well to ease your mind, it could just be one of those gremlins that act up once and you dont have to worry about. A few monthes ago i ran into a store real quick got back to the car and started it up and it did the exact same thing that you mentioned. My fuel pump doesnt whine though and it hasnt acted up since so im not worrying about it

Back on topic. I'm saying fuel pump. Put a pressure gauge on the fuel rail and see how long it holds pressure after you shut it off. Next, after the pressure has dropped off (assuming it will) Turn on the ignition and see how long it takes to build pressure. Also check to see what your line pressure is.

In regards to the pump staying on after you turn the ignition off, I had a similar issue with a different car. It was the relay for the pump. It would get stuck and keep the pump running for awhile after I shut it down. Repalced the relay problem went away. I dont know if are's cars are setup the same or not.

Likely fuel pump. Never changed, noisy, then changed = usually dies shortly. Change the filter once a year/15k miles.

For the record, there are gillions of gixxers and even more skill levels of riders. I doubt you beat one if he was racing, though it's far more likely on the highway since bike aeros suck BIG *** and our cars are decent. That really comes into play at 100+.

The difference b/t an old GSXR 600 and a new GSXR 1000 is millenial. A 400whp car may have a shot against an old 600 caught off guard by a good driver with a shitty rider. A new 1000 with a decent rider will require a ******* brutal car to even hang in most cases. Unless you have both, you really don't get it.

From what you are describing, it is likely your pump dying. Be thankful it didn't go all at once and change it out while you can still drive around.

My little 750 with a power commander and slip-on pulls low 10's at 134 mph and will still hit 184mph in no time with a little straightaway. If you did pull him either your quick as hell or he can't ride worth a flip.
