Default Trunk won't lock!

Help me pleaseeee

Every now and then my trunk won't lock for some reason. I slam it down and it just sits there...the latch thing doesn't catch it. When I press the trunk release button, it make a small noise which is much softer than the noise it makes when it's working properly. It usually takes a few hours before it will work.

I'm guessing this is some sort of electrical problem. What do you guys recommend I do?

The trunk is open right now and I have all day to fix it...

The rear hatch lock has a spring in it thats pretty weak, see if the spring is weak or broken that may be your problem. If it is replace that spring with one that has more tension. Just a guess good luck.

I got one at lowes.... I cant remember where i saw this but their is a guide on how to do it. Try a search on fixing hatch trunk spring see what you can find. But basically you replaced the soft spring with a stiffer one.
