Rear Hatch
I have this problem with my 2000 WS6. I didn't know if eveyone else had it as well or not., but I have to push the trunk button 2 or 3 times before I can open the trunk. I saw this on e-bay but was wanting to know if anyone has tried this or found a better fix.

take the carpet away from the rear latch, and put a smaller tighter spring piggybacked on the spring there, that will pop the trunk up in one shot.
**** that 10 dollar piece of ****, all it is, is a tighter spring. you can get one for like a dollar or even free if you look. that thing on ebay is a waste of money. just go to a hardware store and find a shorter spring similar to the one on the latch. mine pops sky high now (not really but it opens on the first shot)
edit: you are talking about the INSIDE trunk release correct? cause the remote you have to press twice anyway. that fix is when you press the release and it wont pop up and you have to pull up on the hatch and press the release.

Yes that is what I am talking about and I found an old tread on it, but in there some people were saying it only worked for about 2 - 3 months and it was back to the same way again. I didnt know if that might be a better spring or something. I guess I will just try and piggy back it with a new one. Thanks

I had the same problem. I used the installuniversity.com write-up and piggy-backed another spring. It has worked flawlessly for the past 2+ years. Definetly give it a shot before you do anything else. I think the spring was like 39 cents at home depot.

I tried the piggyback spring and it didn't change at all. I said f*ck it, took the spring off and just keep pushing the button a bunch of times to open. I figured it would open with no problem, but that thing just opened the same with the piggy back spring on it.
