Default Gauges Freaking Out!

Looking for some help. I don't remember my gauges doing this previously, but when I started it up this summer, the gauges all top out, then drop back down, then hop to normal... Battery should be good, shows good voltage when running, what could cause this gauge freak out?

You sure the battery is good? The voltage reading when the car is running is the charging voltage from the alternator, not the voltage of the battery.

Check the battery connections.

check you connections to the battery. Make sure they are not loose or corroded. My grand prix does that when the main batt cable goes loose. When I step on the brake or put on the turn signal the gauges will jump up

check the connections too. all the gauges topping out means there is a bad connection somewhere, either loose connections or bad battery.

Check the ground wire that comes off of the battery to the body. I had the same issue before and it was something that simple. good luck though.
