120 MPH car cuts out, Speed Limiter? M6 car
I have a 2001 M6 Z-28, on my way to and from G12 in Atlanta this weekend I got into a few races with some buddies that drove down with me. My car would pull hard as hell all the way to 120 Mph but would cut out and fall on it's face, felt and sounded like the rev limiter. So I put the car in 6th gear and rolled up to 120 again but with the same thing. I thought these cars weren't governed until 160 or something. Do I have a problem elsewhere causing the computer to shut the car down at 120? Any help would be appreciated.

That's strange, the car is a Hurst equipped Loaded M6 so you'd figure it wouldn't be limited so low. My 98 Auto would pull all the way to 155mph with no problem. So I guess it's got the speed limiter set, so a tune needs to be done to remove it correct? I need to look on my window sticker and see what rating the tires are. Thanks

Here's what the window sticker says, P235/55 R-16 S/B Radial B/W tires.
I have the preferred equipment group package with practically every available option although I'm not sure about the tires, what does B/W mean?

That's what it is then, mine came with the shitty 235 tire which isn't Z rated so it has the speed limiter set. I'm calling up Intune to see if I can have this re-set in my computer, kinda sucks when my car falls on it's face when it was pulling so damn hard. These cars are insane on the top end.
