is there any difference between steering racks between the 98-00 to 01-02 model years for fbodies?

theres a firm rack and a standard you need to go off the vin code of which your car has...when i changed mine napa didnt understand this and sent me the wrong one twice until i went down and explained then i got the right one

I have a 99' ws.6 how do i know i got the wright one from autozone, there is only two options with firm ride and w/o firm ride?

so what is the real difference between the 2, are they not interchangeable?

no...the steering shaft input on one is slightly longer...

like i said i got the wrong one twice and both would not take the steering shaft...the only way i got it right was when i called and gave the vin codes...
