Default How do you remove Coolant sensor

It seems that my engine coolant sensor is bad since the light keeps coming on, but the radiator is full. I did a search and all I came up with is to unplug it, but my question is how do you remove the sensor? I think I have found it and can unplug it, just not sure which way to turn it to remove it?
Thanks

My car doesn't have one, but maybe similar to the LT1?

The 98 and 99 cars have the sensor. Posted the link in case yours looked the same.

REALLY? I have seen a 99 without it. I would more than bet that car was modded/it was removed.

Now, I know!

Does the light go out after the car comes up to temperature and the thermostat opens up? (I'm having the same issue, but my light goes out after the coolant starts flowing through the system.) I just replaced my radiator cap to see if its letting air in the system. The old one was really bad - we'll see if it worked today.

My light comes on randomly when I am driving. The temp gauge is right under 210 the entire time and the coolant levels in both the radiator and reservoir are full. Oh I have the SLP high-flow radiator and the 160 degree thermostat if that makes a difference (but those have been in for several years and this problem just started earlier this year).

My sensor is acting up (full time) as well. I would be very interested to hear what it takes to clean, repair, or replace it.

Has anyone ever successfully done this, or has everyone just unplugged the harness and forgotten about it?

I had the same problem with my 99 Formula and eventually the light didnt go off anymore when the engine warmed up and was on all the time. A metal C clip holds the sensor into the radiator. Remove the clip and the sensor pulls right out. Dont lose the O-ring on the sensor. Its very simple to replace. It should be on the passenger side radiator end tank just below the cap

Thanks for the info...I am assuming I need to drain the radiator some also to prevent it from leaking out??

I was having the exact same problem <above> and just replaced the sensor. It took care of the problem like a charm. I got my sensor from gmpartsdirect for $34. They seem to be the least expensive place for this kind of thing, but they take forever. I had to wait over two weeks to get the part.
