Rebuild or New Engine???

well i either have bad lifters or a spun bearing. either way the engine has 103K on it. so i dont want to just fix the lifters or bearings. i want a new engine so i can take care of it from start. this engine has been fucked by the previous owner. so my question is, should i send it to someone to rebuild it or just buy a used engine. either way, i want my engine to have upgraded lifters, new rod bolts, bearings, ms3, p&p heads, and ls6 intake. and if i buy the engine i will work on it myself untill i get it how i want it and then put it in the car. im stumped fellas. and i need some opinions. thanks guys.

If you have the time and previous experience in rebuilding a engine do it your self.

Just go through the parts and see what needs to be replaced or redone by a machine shop.

I may be off on this a bit, but a complete home rebuild (keeping most stock internals such as pistons, rods and crank), will cost you about 1000-1500 Bucks.

id rebuild it, and get it bored and stroked

. even if you dont want to go that route as long as the block is in good shape rebuilding would be the way to go.

well ive never rebuilt an engine. so im not sure if thats gonna be a huge problem. i mean as long as i have something telling me what to do, i can do it. so im pretty confident i can do it. but 1000-1500 to do it myself isnt bad at all. so i think i might start looking into that a bit. thanks for the input guys.

i would vote for a rebuild. get it bored, put some nice forged internals in there and spray the **** out of it. at least that sounds like the most bang for your buck, plus the ms3 loves the spray

yeah man. thats what i think im gonna do. but i dont plan on spraying. now i just need to buy a house with a shop, or build a shop. then the undertaking of the car will begin...mwuahaha...
