bad squeak after alternator change

Default bad squeak after alternator change

Just changed my alternator here recently and now there is a bad squeak/squeal. not sure if the belt is bad or if the tensior needs some lovin. Any suggestions?

It may be the alternator itself. Where did you buy the new alternator? I got one from either Autozone or Advance (can't remember which one) and after a few weeks it started to squeak real bad. I took it back and the guy at the counter looked at me like I was crazy because I wanted one that didn't squeak. Finally got a good one and no more squeak.

Obviously you can just spin the alt pulley by hand and listen to find out if that's the problem.
