been there, done that, replaced the battery and it's perfect now.

Trip Odometer Resets Itself some times when i clean my car i have the radio on (with the key turned back) for about 30 min. when i turn my car back on it has reset itself back to 0. is this normal or is something messed up?

Low battery voltage on the '99 cars can reset the trip odo, sometimes accompanied by the gauges sweeping on startup. If you didn't have the stereo on I'd suspect the battery and have it load tested.

Funny! I have an optima red top and have the same problem. The issue on mine is that it corrodes at the + terminal... Even with a Red Top. I'm going to have to disconnect it, clean out both ends and then prep it with an anti-corrosion agent to try and resolve the issue.

Mine started just fine too , but once I replaced the battery the problem with the odometer/gauges went away.
