Default Ses Code: P0463

P0463 Fuel Level Sensor Circuit High Input is the code and meaning I'm getting on my car. I was wondering what this means or how to fix this? From what I'm reading this is due to a bad connection on the sending unit?

Is the fuel gauge reading empty? Maybe this will help: www.gearchatter.com/viewtopic8999.php For a 2K but didn't see it under 2K1.

It reads empty then goes back to normal, it seems to do it more often when I have a quarter tank left.

99% of the P0463 codes that come into our shop is a fuel level sensor. Sometimes you can see the contacts on the sensor bent or worn causing an intermittent problem.

Fuel pump module has to come out which means you have to drop the tank or cut the notorious access hole under the carpet in the rear hatch. Dont cheap out on parts and get a GM replacement sensor....you dont want to go in there doing it again. If you have the extra cash, you might replace the fuel pump while you are in there to save from having to do it in the future.
