Default what does this connect to??

i was under my car plugging my low oil sensor back up and i noticed an electrical connection that was unplugged and the end was melted. the end that was not melted was plugged into another connection that is inbetween the alternator and the motor mount. that leads into some wire loom and and looks like it goes back to the pcm. i looked for where the melted end plugged into, but i couldn't find anything. i haven't noticed anything not working correctly so i don't think it's anything too important but i'd like to know what it is and fix it. anybody know where it goes?

Can you post a pic? What colors are the wires? Maybe I can find it in my helms.

IF it was a 98-00, I would say EGR has been removed.

If it's EGR, it will be coming out of the same Loom that the injectors are going through.

the only things I can think of that goes down behind the alternator and motor mount is the o2 sensor harness. The alternator connector itself. And the Wheel speed harness (or whatever it's called, for the ABS) But that goes straight up the inner fender if I remember right and not through the engine mount and alternator. But again that's on my 98 I'm not sure if it's different for the 2002 year. Oh also the grounding cable that bolts from the block behind the mount to the frame

it's an '02, so no egr here. the connector that this one is plugged ino goes into the loom that the alternator connector goes in and then that one goes into another loom that the IAT and maf connectors go.

i know the pictures aren't the greatest, but it's the best i could do. in the first one you can see the end that is connected to the wires that run into the loom with the alternator connector and then they both run into the the loom with the IAT, MAF and one of the sensors in the TB(TPS maybe?). The last pic is of the melted end that i can figure out what it plugs into. it's the only connection that is in the same loom as the alternator so it shouldn't be hard to find. thanks guys.

Looks like an o2 plug. Is it 4 wires?

can't see the pics so I'm kinda guessing here. To me in the first place it sounded like the o2 sensor plug. If you deleted the rear o2's ensure you don't have the rear o2 plug connected to the front sensor. the rear ones are routed together with the transmission connectors. but if my day isn't too long I'll get on a computer to let me see the pics when I get back to our main compound.

Funny, I have a connector that looks like that hanging down in the engine bay not connected to anything on my LT1 car.

i'm starting to think it's a connector for the rear O2's that i took out but i could have sworn i took all those wires out when i installem my headers. have you taken your rear o2s out? it may be the same for both of us

No, I still have rear O2 sensors. Notice I never got an answer in my thread either.
