Default Car starts, then quits, Why?

My car starts and idles for about 10 seconds. It really doesn't idle, it runs at about 100-500 rpm, then quits. It ran fine first thing in the morning, then 15 minutes later at a red light, it just stalls. My car sat for about 2 weeks. I started it twice in that time period for about 15 minutes each time. What could be causing this? Fuel pump, fuel filter, alternator? I put some new gas in the tank thinking I was out of gas, but nothing. Please help. Thanks guys.(and girls)

Also, I disconnected the sensor that plugs into our airboxes and tried starting it. It idled at a higher rpm but then still died after about 10 seconds.

Pretty much stock? If so maybe ignition of fuel pump relay? I had the same sort of problem and found out that the connectors on the pig tail going to the fuel pump were not sqeezing down on the male pins on the body mounted harness.

Does anyone else agree on checking the fuses? Well, I went back to the car after work and it started to idle and I gave it some gas. I could tell all 8 were firing. Then after a few seconds again the idle got all choppy and then it stalled. I do have 107,000 miles.

Idle Air Control could be screwed.

Damn, ****, damn. . .

Check down the line, fuel pressure, voltage(running and sitting) and all connections + AIC.

I would also suggest the MAF, but I don't think it can cause this bad of an issue.

Post back on what you find.

I pulled out the idle air control valve and cleaned it off. It wasn't that dirty at all. Is it suppose to move in and out at all? It moves just a hair, just enough to where you can feel it move. Should it move more than that?

If the oil level was really low, could it be causing this problem. I will post up a video in a minute.

i think its the fuel pump. the reason first that is the typical miles that it gives out at. 2nd when the car is off, from the outside heat in the fuel tank it can create enough pressure to force fuel back into the injectors. and 3rd, its surprising that it lasted 2 hours, it can be maybe the fins inside the fuel pump are broken and not pumping enough fuel and starving the motor. check the pressure valve on the fuel injector rail to see if fuel is going to squirt out, do this carefully. and u can try changing your fuel filter to see if it helps

Alright, thanks guys. I'll try the fuel filter first and then go after the pump, after checking the fuel pressure.
