Im not sure though.. when the car starts to run warm (in hot weather or after WOT) The temp gauge starts to flicker back and fourth to Between 0 and 210. when that happens, the car starts to misfire, sputter, and turn off. sometimes im not able to start it back up, till after it cools a bit. Im guessing its a bad Temp sensor, and its throwing the tune off with its false readings. Anyone had any experience with anything like this?

Does it just sputter and flicker when the car is fully warmed up, or when under 180 degrees as well? Maybe check the battery cables to make sure that they are on snug.

Hmm weird, have you had the car tuned since your mods? If possible get someone to scan your car for codes even though its not throwing an ses light yet. HPtuners will pick it up if a sensor failed.
Something easy to try, clean you maf with some brake cleaner or some maf cleaner. Whichever will work just dont touch the wires.
Im thinking maybe when you go WOT some oil from your air filter gets on your maf wires causing the car not to be able to tell how much fuel to add. Just a shot in the dark.

You can go to gearchatter.com and look through the ECT codes (117, 118, 1114, 1115) on how to diagnose the sensor/wiring. To eliminate the sensor itself you could just replace it, think it's under $30 even at the dealership. I'd take a close look at the connector and wiring too. Glancing through a couple of the above code descriptions the PCM doesn't throw an ECT SES until two consecutive ignition cycle failures, so your problem might just be intermitent. Would be interesting to see on a scan tool what the temp says when it's jumping from 0-210 like that. If it was me and the wiring and connector looked OK I'd just replace the sensor first, it's my understanding it reads from ECT>connector/wiring>PCM>gauge. Sputtering like that makes me think the PCM isn't seeing the correct ECT input. Hope this helps....

Faulty wiring at the temp sensor connector will cause this. If the temp gauge falls to cold suddenly it is the sensor or the wiring, the engine doesn't go from 200 to 75 degrees in 2 seconds. Ever.
I had this exact problem, it was intermittent. It did all kinds of stupid **** but never threw a code. The computer simply thought the engine was cold all of a sudden from time to time. Would unlock the converter, idle high and rich, and just generally run like **** for a little while.

A bad connection for the temp sensor would certainly cause exactly what you are describing, the gauge would bounce around and the incorrect low temp reading would cause the A/F mixture to go rich, which could cause the engine to stumble or die. I would suspect a bad connection, loose/broken wire or bad ground before the sensor itself. Let us know what you find.

i am having this problem, and the only code i got was getting was p1258(engine coolant over temp) were it disables fuel. causing it to stall. should i replace my sensor? its old and i have had some mods..and a tune recently.
