Default Ligenfelter/Wiend 80mm intake?

Anyone running these? I found out for sale on a local forum and was wondering it that will flow better than my LS6?

Also since it's all Aluminum does that cause more heat soak?

I tried searching and didn't find much, so thanks in advance guys

Stupid advise. Your going to tell him no on an intake that will make good power for his car for a good price, and that he needs to spend 2x's the money on an intake manifold that wont make more power?

I love the noobs on this site that dont know **** and tell people dont do things because their friend told them not to do it or they read something.

If the price is good Id do it. I have a friend with one and it makes awesome power. Also for heat soak. Its a ton of horseshit. On HPtuners his "metal" manifold vs my "plastic" manifold were pulling the same IAT's while driving. Because the air does not sit in the manifold long enough to soak up the heat.

I would. I picked up my LS6 intake for $220. Also having FAST 78 ported cost EVEN MORE MONEY. I wouldnt take that guys advise as he obviously has no idea what hes talking about.

Low ***** offers are fun, some people might actualy take them.

Im sure you do. I wouldnt go to your shop due to the terrible information you give out on this forum. I also doubt you own your own shop due to your posts.

i never said that was not a great deal on that intake. but there are alot better ones out there. why would you take off a plastic intake and put a metal intake that you will have more heat soak with. makes no sense

Put your hand on your plastic intake after driving around for a while, you'd be surprised as to how hot it gets; I've got to agree w/ Pntbll309, heat-soak isn't really a reason to get your panties in a wad.
I've got the Lingenfelter intake and love it. It's nice having some extra insurance when you're running n20. However, keep in mind that if you choose to use a gasket instead of rtv, you must use the one designed specifically for the manifold. The normal Ls1 gasket won't cut it w/o having vacuum leaks out the yin yang....found that out the hard way

The aluminum Weiand is a very good intake. The advantage over the LS6 is that you can open the mouth (inlet) of the Weiand to 85mm with a dremel. Then, remove the bottom cover & smooth the inlet of the runners; just smooth the ridges on the runner inlets, don't get too aggressive. Throw on an inexpensive 85mm throttle body & she's a great performer.

BTW, aluminum Weiand intakes can be found for $200-$300. So, mention to the seller that you saw a few @ $250 when you give him a low ball. Summit sells in-expensive 85mm throttle bodies.

Yes, I have used a ported Weiand for a few years now.

if you realy wanna use a price to low ball him I picked one up used localy for $50 and have since port matched it to an 85mm tb and it looks great havnt installed it yet but Im thinking the larger intake should give me a couple hp over the ls6

You sir are a moron. Please post the name of your shop so none of us will be screwed by it. You and your "heatsoak" need to do some ACTUAL research, you will be surprised when you find out that you have been running your mouth about something you dont know anything about. Please stop posting about things you have absolutely no experience with.

Or look for a deal on the BBK SSI intake. Comes with an 85mm opening, and has similar runners to the Weiand. Mine works very well with an 85mm Summit TB that I ported and polished smooth.
