Default Anyone have any ideas why ...

Anyone have any ideas why a 2000 SS would fail to start, and display symptoms as if the clutch pedal were not depressed, other than a bad clutch start switch?

The problem is intermittent so I can't troubleshoot it properly. I've got my paperclip ready to go, to jumper the clutch start switch the next time the car fails to start. Other than that, I'm thinking key security, or maybe something in the solenoid or starter itself.

Thanks in advance for any ideas!

if all the lights work and it won't even try to start, i'd say starter solenoid.

Also could be the starter relay.

I should have stated earlier: No codes or security light.

No clicking or slow cranking, no noise whatsoever from under the hood.

Thanks very much for everyone's input. The next time it craps out on me (which hopefully is in my driveway and not in the Walmart parking lot) I'll try to get some more info.
