Default FAST 90/90 vs Victor Jr?

I had a FAST manifold on my car but it turned out my tuning problems were because there were multiple cracks in the bottom of my manifold which one day decided to connect the dots and become one large crack . Whoever intalled the manifold Badassed the bolts down too hard and cracked it. I can eiether buy a new lower piece of the manifold OR i can go with something else. My friend who owns a local speed shop suggested to me the Edelbrock Victor Jr manifold. He thinks its a better choice over the FAST. I also plan on going with more cubes and forced induction a bit more down the road. What do you guys think?

Get the new lower for now and install it yourself to insure it is bolted down correctly. If you decide to go bigger cubes and FI down the road, you can sell it and use the money towards the purchase of the new parts.

If your going to run the Vic jr get a cam that is spec'd for it. As far as Ive been told and my search on here has shown trying to compare a FAST type to a vic isnt truly a fair comparison. Lots of people here run the vic and love it. Again get a cam spec'd for the Vic!

tighter LSA in the 110 range from what Ive seen. It has more to do with valve train timing that I really dont understand. Perhaps predator-z can step in here

Only get theVic with bigger cubes & cam. Your gonna lose low end torque switching but it won't be as noticeable with the bigger cubes. If your stayin 347 then buy the lower piece & stick with the FAST

I run a carb style intake manifold on my 402 right now and you can deffinentaly tell a big MPH difference as my car traps near 140 mph. but i plan to go bigger cubes in the future thats why i keep it on the car.

This has been true when people compare the Vic Jr to a LS6 or FAST style intake when using the same cam, ie a motor with a ---/--- 114 LSA cam will loose alot and really only shine up top with a Vic when compared to a folded hands style intake.

Get a cam with correct valve timing events (read custom spec) cam on something like a 110+2 (which has been recomended to me by predator-z) and it will make up for alot of that low end deficiency.

Basically just make sure you have a good combo, just like ANYTHING else.
