notching cross member

How much can you actually cut off of the cross member safely when installing LT's? And how much space between the headers and any part of the car is ideal, (mainly cross member)?

Why do you need to notch the K member? EBAY headers?

I want to get headers and I've been reading and even people that buy good headers sometimes have to notch the cross memeber. I'm just planing ahead.

You're right there, alot of people have to notch, regardless of price. Motor mounts sag and shift overtime. Could replace them while your there, I would. I've seen as much as an inch trimmed. It was more then enough. Search around a bit more and don't just cheap out on headers. Although I don't like them, very few people have any problems with pacestters. I want stainless though.

I had to notch my k-member a bit when I installed my Ebay headers. No biggie, took me 5 minutes with a grinder

Yeah I want stainless too. I'm thinking real hard about taking the chance with some ebay stainless steel headers. 94'BLKBRD what was the name of the seller you got yours from? Hows the ground clearance? Do they hit the floor boards?
