Single vs Double Roller?
Single vs Double Roller? Does using a double roller timing chain on an LS1 require machining of the block or shimming? I'm just trying to figure out whats best for a mild street cruiser/brawler.

you shim the oil pump, shims should come with chain.
you also should cut about 1/8" wide by 1/16" deep chamfer on the rear of the balancer collar. this provides more clearance for the chain. CHECK THOSE DIMENSIONS.

hands down ls2. but use the ls2 sprockets and chain. some people just use the chain but for 70 bucks....get the whole thing new. double roller is a little over kill unless you build a CRAZY high hp motor. you don't have worry about shims or grinding your timing chain cover(in SOME cases).
