Default Oval inlet/exit Muffler

Who, other than Spintech, makes a muffler featuring an oval pipe inlet/exit. The spintech is freakin awesome, in that you can get it in up to a 5" pipe (all I want is 4") and its total height case-and-all is only 3.5" tall!!! Thats major ground clearance for a 4" muffler!

The only problem with the Spintech muffler... is that it's a Spintech muffler Maybe leading the pack on worst flowing muffler ever. But, SpinTech makes a CRAP load of oval pipes/bends/adapters and even oval dumps which could be decently priced when you consider how much space it takes up. So, now all I need to do is find a nice muffler that uses something a tad more strait thru than the mouse-maze spintech design. "Good initiative, bad judgement" spintech.

Just so we're clear, I'm not talking about an oval case muffler. I'm talking about an oval PIPE muffler. Any help would be freakin awesome... because even a google search didnt bring S#!t up.

Yeah I figured this thread wouldnt have much contributing info. I can't find ANYTHING that uses an oval inlet/exit. So, would anyone be willing to say that a 5" spintech is going to flow better than a 4"? With it being oval it really doesnt matter what size you go with. The ground clearance will be the same. All I am concerned with is finding an option that flows good... something that Spintech isnt exactly known for.

What about a Borla xr1 race muffler? They flow and they list the case as only 4-1/2" thick, even for the 4" in/out? Then just transition to oval tubing?

Well aware of the borla and all of its glory... had one on a borla-mouth once. Sounded good IMO, but the freakin dent in the bottom of it with stock ride height is a prime indicator of a ground clearance issue. And my car isnt getting any taller, actually its getting lowered. So, gaining 1/4" of ground clearance instead of losing a 1/2" is what I am trying to accomplish... all while staying light weight and flowing better than a single 3" muffler.

Thanks for the input, but I don't think I'll be going that way if I can help it. Like I said earler, the 4" and even 5" Spintech is only 3.5" tall! Thats major ground clearance for a muffler. The oval pipe would be worthless if its mating up to a muffler thats the size of a ricer muffler... in the very lowest part of the car.

Why don't you just take the muffler you want and cut the cylindrical inlet/outlet off and weld on the oval stuff. I have a hooker muffler on the car and the truck and the way the case is made it wouldn't be that hard for someone that could weld. Have you thought about just carefully crushing it in a press to get the shape you want.

Man I am glad to see someone reply with an idea that I have kinda been thinking about. The only problem is that most, if not all, of the big name companies all use a muffler case that is 4" tall. I know it sounds like I am splitting hairs here, but I am just trying to create the best flowing/clearance exhaust with the biggest pipe I can. The big pipe gives it a very DEEP tone. I am inclined to think that changing the shape of the incoming gas from round to oval would cause the muffler to do something that it wasnt designed to do... but I could be wrong. I've got an arc welder... I guess if its a strait thru muffler then it wouldnt matter. Problem is finding a strait thru muffler thats got a case less than 4" tall.

Little update: Flowmaster makes an oval in/out muffler, under race mufflers (Delta), 3.5" pipe. One of them is a single in/out 3"X8", the other is dual in/out and like 11"X25".
