Default Engine running bad after header install/egr delete

Installed headers, took out all EGR. Got the code 0405 which is "Exhaust Gas Recirculation Position Sensor Ci" Cleared it with tuner. My car is loping to the point where it olmost dies then will rev to about 1800 and back an forth... is there something i did wrong with taking out the EGR? would that cause this to happen? I took out all the hoses, left the actual EGR motor or whatever it is in the car but i disconnected all the wires going to it. Any help is appreciated, thanks. I had also replaced all the spark plugs if that helps with anything

That could be the cause, also check the wires did they click when you installed them on the plugs and the coils
Also check the plug that you put in the intake to plug up the EGR hole (you did put one in didn't you) there might be a vacumm leak there

Wires are all clicked in, EGR seal on TB is tight, o2's are correct... i will be pulling the plugs out tomorrow and going to set them at 0.40. My buddy had picked them up for me while he was at the local auto parts store, and failed to mention that the guy had told him they needed to be set to that. I even saw the writing that he put on the box and it didnt even click to me. Thanks for all the input, will let you know how it goes.

i was thinking spark plugs . sometimes there are small cracks from not being handled right during the shipping and storage process . that or the gaps or not the same .
